Provide node specific permissions in Drupal

There are situations where we need to provide access specific to node or content type.

There are several ways of achieving this, but we are illustrating one way of doing it through "Content Access" Module.
 

  • Download and install (Unzip and move content_access folder to sites/all/modules folder on your server
  • Enable the module like any other module by going through {domain}/admin/build/modules/list}
  • Go to Content Types-->Choose a content you would like to provide access-->Access Control
  • Provide needed permissions
  • If you would like to enable node specific access, Enable per content node access control settings
  • Save it
  • Now go to Node Specific access {drupal url}/node/{node_number}/access
  • Provide needed access and save it
